NYO Football TRAINING CAMP 2025
What is it? “Training Camp” is mandatory for all NYO football players. It includes three (3) days of instruction, light conditioning and heat acclimation. The Camp is important to player preparation for Tryouts and commencement of the season. NYO coaches will teach fundamental skills to NYO players advancing through the drills that will be used during Tryouts.
What are the Objectives?
1. Enhance player safety by providing instruction on proper techniques before tryouts,
2. Provide players with limited conditioning and heat acclimation and
3. Instruction of graduated levels of contact
Who should attend? All NYO football players participating in the Third Grade, Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade and Bigs Leagues.
Dates and Times: Each session will last 75 to 90 minutes.

Where should players arrive?

3rd Grade League | Fanning Field – Players should enter the field through the dugout closest to the score board. |
Fourth Grade League | Fanning Field – Players should enter the field through the dugout closest to Field of Dreams baseball field and Lake Forrest Drive. |
Fifth Grade League & 6th Grade (Bigs) League | Fanning Field (aka Blackwell Stadium) – Please enter through the dugout closest to the score board. |

What should players wear? - If your child is unable to obtain football equipment before Training Camp attend wearing shorts, t-shirt and cleats.
· Day 1 players are to wear helmets, mouth pieces, t-shirts, shorts and football cleats.
· Days 2 & 3 players are to wear helmets, shoulder pads, football pants, mouth pieces, jerseys, socks and football cleats.
Tryout #’s: Please have your child’s last name & tryout number duct taped (or otherwise attached) to the front of your child’s helmet. You will be notified when Tryout #'s are made available in late July at that time use this link to obtain Tryout #’s: CLICK HERE FOR TRYOUT NUMBERS.
Hydration – Beginning the day before players should properly hydrate prior to arriving at Training Camp. Players should bring a large bottle of water or sports drink (Gatorade or Powerade). No energy drinks. Read more about hydration from NYO’s website: PROPER HYDRATION
What do parents do during Training Camp? Parents should remain outside the fences during Training Camp.
Bad Weather – Each day of Training Camp will continue in rainy conditions but will be cancelled in the event of lightning.
