In conjunction with NYO’s mission, Titus’ speed clinic emphasizes character development, sportsmanship, healthy competition, and positive coaching.

The NYO Speed Clinic aims to enhance sprint speed (20yd, 40yd, and 60yd dash), total body power (vertical jump, standing long jump, and overall strength), and lateral movement (foot quickness and agility). The training camp targets five key physical qualities of sport: mobility/flexibility for movement efficiency, strength/power for movement force, speed/acceleration for joint velocity, agility/coordination for motor efficiency, and endurance for fatigue resistance. The training camp protocol includes improving technical efficiency with posture, mechanics, and sustained movement through various warm-up options, static and dynamic stretching, and ballistic movements. Coordination efficiency is developed through total body movements, proper body sequencing, change of direction methods, and foot quickness drills.

Titus Sports Academy, a premier athletic development and training academy and an affiliate of USA Baseball, has trained Olympians, professional and collegiate athletes, military special operations soldiers, and many other top performers who consistently set the standard for excellence in human performance. The Titus staff are highly trained professionals with certifications from the American Council on Exercise, Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, International Sports Science Association, National Association of Speed and Explosion, Functional Movement Screening, National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA Weightlifting and USA Track and Field. In 2013, NYO established a flag football program for players in kindergarten & 1st grade. In 2019, NYO expanded flag football to 2nd grade. One coach from each team is allowed on the field at all times to promote faster play and instruction between downs. All players will participate in at least half of each game. NYO will provide, footballs, flag belts, and a uniform (t-shirt and shorts). Parents must provide cleats and mouthpieces. The season runs from mid August through the middle of November.

In 1951, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Coach, Bob Blackwell created a football team of thirteen young boys from North Atlanta. This small football squad, called the Red Devils, would evolve into one of the largest, intra-park football programs in the entire country. Today, Northside Youth Organization’s football program boasts nearly 900 players from Kindergarten through 7th grade. Thousands of boys through the years have played at NYO and learned both football and life lessons. Many of our NYO Football alumni recall some of their fondest memories as youngsters occurring on the fields at Chastain Park.

The NYO Cheer program is a fantastic complement to our football program in the fall. Our cheer squads consist of girls in grades K through 8th, and they cheer for teams in the NYO Football League. The Cheer season begins with a pre-season clinic. The program focuses not only on cheer, but also stunting and dance. In November, our cheer program hosts the NYO Cheer Off which is a friendly competition for our young ladies to show off their skills in team centered routines.

For over 50 years, NYO baseball has been a staple in the North Atlanta community. America’s pastime is our pastime. Located in the heart of Chastain Park, Northside Youth Organization’s facilities are second to none featuring nine fields, twelve batting cages, and six pavilions located on our main campus and three additional game fields in the neighborhood. Today, our program serves nearly 1,500 players from ages four to fourteen separated into ten leagues.

The softball program has been an integral part of Northside Youth Organization for over 40 years. What began as a slow pitch program in the early 1970’s, NYO Fastpitch was launched in 1992. Today, the NYO Fastpitch program boasts over 500 players ranging from ages 5 to 18. Centrally located in the heart of Chastain Park, our program has five dedicated fastpitch fields, turf batting cages with pitching machines, and six pavilions for family fun and team camaraderie. Our goal is to provide the best opportunity for players at all levels to enjoy the game of fastpitch softball through non-stop encouragement, instructive guidance, and positive role models.

3-on-3 is BACK!

A 5-week summer program running on Tuesdays and Thursdays at NYO, 3-v-3 basketball is a great opportunity for skill development, game situations, and fun!

3-v-3 Basketball (now an Olympic sport!) is a fresh variation of 5-on-5 that we're all accustomed to. With increased touches for all players, more decisions made per session, and faster pace of play, 3-v-3 is rapidly growing in popularity worldwide. Skill-development is more rapid and diverse in 3-on-3 because of the opportunity for trial and error amongst athletes. NYO 3-v-3 will be led by Jacob Morton, who joins the NYO team with 10 years of experience in youth sports and an educational background in coach education and athlete development. He now brings his vision to the already successful NYO athletics approach, with his focus being on action-based learning, competitive spirit, and an overall enjoyment of the sport. These one hour sessions are sure to be a highlight of any athletes week with 60 straight minutes of positive energy and an opportunity to improve.
