NYO Boys Basketball Update

NYO Boys Basketball Families, 

2020-21 Key Dates:
November 20-21: Tryouts (NEW PLAYERS ONLY - see more info below) 
*No Make-Up Tryouts
November 22-25: Drafts
November 30: Practices Begin
December 21-January 3: Christmas Break/No Games
January 4: Games Begin
January 18: MLK Day - No Events

TRYOUT INFORMATION:
1. First graders DO NOT attend tryouts. 
2. In an effort to avoid large crowds/gatherings, "returning players" WILL NOT attend tryouts this year. A "returning player" is defined as player that participated in the 2019-20 NYO boys basketball program. 
3. Participation in the ATL club basketball program does not classify you as a "returning player."
4. "Returning players" will receive an email from your league coordinator to collect necessary information for drafts (height, weight, etc) 
5. We will release tryout numbers, tryout schedules, tryout locations, etc. for those "new players" trying out on November 21 & 22 soon. This info will be released in a separate communication. 
6. We will not hold make-up tryouts this year.
7. Tryouts will be recorded for coaches to watch before drafts. 
8. Parents/fans will not be allowed in the gyms during tryouts. 
9. Coaches/staff will be required to wear masks for tryouts. 
10. Players should wear a mask to and from the gym but are not required to wear masks during tryouts. 
11. Once drafts are complete, you will receive an email from the registration system as well as your head coach notifying you which team your child has been placed on for the season. 

PAYMENT/WAITLIST: 
We have started dropping players that were recently activated off the waitlist but haven't completed payment. If you have not completed your payment and plan to play this winter, please login to your NYO account and complete that step as soon as possible. If you are receiving this email and no longer plan to play at NYO this winter, please let us know as soon as possible. With a long waitlist in place, we have families eager to accept a spot as soon as one opens up.
