“We are all on this trip. We are taking the trip right now. I am rounding 3rd for certain and I am picking up speed for home. Most of you are approaching 2nd or maybe just rounding 2nd. But as you approach home you pick up speed. We are all trying to beat the throw but no one ever does. Don’t slide into home in a clean uniform, not having experienced both life’s up and it’s downs, rather slide into home with dirt all over you with torn pockets and torn knees but when you look up at that catcher who is getting ready to put the tag on you, have the biggest smile you have ever had on your face. We are all on the trip, don’t miss the adventure.”
