NYO Families & Friends,

Despite the frigid weather, our baseball and softball players are ready to take the field for another exciting spring season. It’s great to be back at the park!

BIG NEWS: The TeamNYO Campaign Declares Victory! We are extremely pleased to announce that our campaign goal has been reached! To-date, we have raised in excess of $1,250,000 in pledges and donations, NYO’s best fundraising effort ever. We want to thank each of the 1,100+ families and major donors that supported the campaign, and we are especially grateful to the 50+ volunteers who made this all happen. Thank you!

If you have visited the park recently, you certainly noticed the many TeamNYO projects underway or recently completed - the Shapiro Pavilion, three new sets of grandstands on TB2, SB2 and SB5, renovated batting cages, new bullpens and dugouts, new field and infrastructure improvements – and much more. All very exciting! (Click headline or photo to read more!)

Dear NYO Families,

TeamNYO is proud to report that the campaign total now exceeds $1,100,000! That’s outstanding, and we are very grateful to over 1,100 families that have generously supported the campaign. Throughout last year, starting with football and ending powerfully with baseball and softball, we received phenomenal support from our many loyal families.

AND, a huge THANK YOU to our many volunteers who made this campaign possible. Their dedicated effort and countless hours of work fueled the TeamNYO spirit from the start. See the long list below and give them all a big Hi-Five and warm word of thanks!

HOWEVER, we still have short ways to go! If you did not have a chance to participate last year, we invite you to contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to join up. There is also more information at Once we achieve our goal of $1,250,000, we will officially declare VICTORY, so let’s make this happen soon!

If you’ve walked the park lately, you certainly would have noticed the first signs of TeamNYO funded projects:

  1. 1.New Double Pavilion by Garr Field (dedication on Sunday Sept 8th at 5:00pm – all invited)
  2. 2.Renovated Dowis-area batting cages with new synthetic turf & improved drainage; more spacious Blackwell batting cage area with new synthetic turf cages
  3. 3.Additional, improved field space at Jackson Primary School
  4. 4.New permanent dugouts for the softball fields
  5. 5.Improvements to the Gym, continued from last year, with new vestibules and interior trim
  6. 6.Much more to come, once we declare VICTORY!

On the parking and back road, our planning and pre-engineering work has begun, and we are working with the city on timetables and permits. We will continue to make progress and work as rapidly as our partners will allow, while at the same time, keep managing our many other exciting projects. In the near future, we’ll start work on the new grandstands (W. Wieuca hill), add batting cages and bullpens, replace netting and fencing, improve partner fields and gyms, and launch many other projects – all thanks to TeamNYO!

On the afternoon of Sunday September 8th, NYO Football will get kicked-off with the first official game of the season: the BIG RAIDERS vs. PACKERS on Blackwell Field (6:30pm). The festivities will begin at 5:00pm with the dedication of the first major completed TeamNYO project, the new Double Pavilion by Garr Field. This will be followed by the Character Speaker Event at 5:30 PM at Blackwell Field, featuring NYO’s own Randy Rhino, a three-time football All-American at GA Tech.
As you know, NYO is a special place that produces wonderful memories for our families and teaches valuable lessons to our kids. Working together as we always do, our loyal NYO families and wonderful volunteers teamed up to make TeamNYO a reality that will enhance & improve these experiences for our generation and many to come. Thank you for your support!
